[Looking back on ...] März 2014

Der März ist vorbei, und wir sind im Frühling angekommen. So sehr ich diesen (Nicht-) Winter den Schnee auch vermisst habe, ich genieße das wunderbare Wetter sehr. Endlich hat man wieder richtig Lust, sich draußen zu bewegen, die Blumen in unserem Garten sorgen für eine wahre Farbexplosion, und es ist toll, wie hell es jetzt abends ist. Nur die Umstellung auf Sommerzeit hätte wegen mir nicht sein müssen, jetzt ist es morgens wieder so dunkel, wenn ich aufstehe :( ... Zum Glück ändert sich das ja auch bald wieder.

Ich habe übrigens Ende März begonnen, an der #100happydays-Challenge teilzunehmen. Allerdings poste ich wohl nicht jeden Tag etwas dazu auf Instagram oder Facebook, und nicht alle Instagram-Bilder davon werden in den Looking Back-Einträgen landen. Aber hoffentlich erinnert sie mich daran, wieder mehr zu instagrammen. Wenn ihr mehr über die Challenge wissen wollt, könnt ihr hier einen Eintrag dazu bei Stef von Magnoliaelectric lesen.

So, March is over and we have firmly arrived in the spring. As much as I missed snow in this (not-) winter, the fabulous weather is a real treat! Finally I feel like going outside and get moving, the flowers in our garden are brightening the day with their colours, and I love how much light there is in the evening. I only could have done without the change to daylight saving time, now it's so dark again when I get up :( ... Luckily this will change again soon, too.

I started to take part in the #100happydays challenge at the end of March. I probably won't post something for it on Instagram or Facebook every day, though, and not all Instagram pictures from it won't end up in the Looking back entries. But I hope it will remind me to use Instagram more. If you want to know more about the challenge, you can read an entry on it here at A Beautiful Mess.

Ein schicker Retro-2CV mit Granny Square-Sitzbezügen(!) in unserer Nachbarschaft. / Ich habe unterwegs beim Joggen Schnittblumen gefunden, die jemand einfach weggeschmissen hatte! Natürlich habe ich die sofort mitgenommen und meine Wand damit geschmückt. / Die "Reagenzgläser"-Vasen wollte ich schon lange einmal ausprobieren, endlich kam es dazu.

A great retro 2CV with granny square seats (!) in our neighbourhood. / While I was out running, I found some cut flowers someone had just thrown away! Of course I picked them up and took them home to decorate my wall with them. / I had wanted to try out these types of vases for a long time, and finally I had the chance.

Schokolade ist einfach immer etwas, das mich glücklich macht. Dark Chocolate Cookie ist meine Lieblingssorte von Lindt Hello. / Nach fast zwei Jahren habe ich es endlich geschafft, meine Schandle-Larve aufzuhängen. M2 findet sie etwas unheimlich, aber für mich ist sie ein wichtiges Erinnerungsstück an meine Oma. / Frisch gebackenes Brot ist einfach Liebe pur ♥ .

Chocolate always makes me happy. This  dark chocolate cookie is my favourite from Lindt Hello. / After almost two years, I finally managed to hang up my Schandle mask. M2 thinks it's a bit creepy but it's an important keepsake of my grandma. / Freshly baked bread = love ♥ . 

Das erste Eis auf der Hand in diesem Jahr! An dem Tag fühlte es sich fast schon wie Sommer an. / Charaktere für Rollenspiele bauen ist wunderbar. Nur das Würfelglück war diesmal nicht so besonders ...

[Looking back on ...] Februar 2014

Morgen ist der erste März, und ich kann es kaum glauben, dass der Winter damit fast vorüber ist. Dieses Jahr hat das Wetter diesen Namen nicht wirklich verdient! Ich muss sagen, ich habe den Schnee sehr vermisst, so sehr ich ihn letztes Jahr im Frühjahr doch satt hatte ... Wart ihr froh über den warmen Winter, oder hättet ihr auch gern etwas knackige Kälte und weißes Schneegestöber gehabt?

Im Februar war ich wieder recht faul auf Instagram ... Wenn sich das so fortsetzt, werde ich mir überlegen, den Insta-Rückblick nur noch zweimonatlich zu machen. Ich bin einfach nicht die aktivste Knipserin, auch wenn ich es toll finde, auf Instagram zu sehen, wie viele Einblicke manche uns in ihr Leben geben. Was würdet ihr davon halten?

Tomorrow is the first of March, and I can hardly believe that winter is almost gone. This year the weather really did not deserve that name! I have to say I really missed the snow, even though I was heartily sick of it last spring ... Were you happy about the warm winter or would you also have liked some sharp cold and a flurry of snow?

In February, I was again rather lazy with taking pictures and posting them on Instagram ... If that continues, I might consider doing the Insta-review only every two months. I'm just not the most active photographer even if I love watching others share so many pictures of their lives on Instagram. What would you think of that?

Die ersten Nähergebnisse mit der neuen Maschine - Taschen in allen Formen und Farben! (Okay, das Foto ist schwarzweiß, aber ihr wisst, was ich meine :).) / Hmm, supersaftige Brownies! (Rezept hier.) / Ein Geschenk für eine Freundin - für sie waren auch die Brownies.

The first sewing results with the new machine - little pouches in all sizes and colours! (Okay, the picture is black and white but you know what I mean :).) / Wonderfully rich brownies - yum! (Recipe here.) / A present for a friend - she got some of the brownies, too. 

Mein nächstes Nähprojekt! Leider musste ich feststellen, dass einer der Stoffe nicht wirklich passte, also war Umdenken angesagt. / Totoro und Granny Squares - mein Bett wird immer hübscher :). / Ab und zu muss man sich was Schönes gönnen, und so eine kleine Minipackung Pralinen ist dafür ideal, oder?

My next sewing project! Unfortunately I discovered that one of the fabrics didn't really fit, so I had to reconsider. / Totoro and granny squares - my bed is becoming cuter and cuter :). / Sometimes you deserve a little treat, and this miniature box of chocolates is perfect for that, isn't it?

[Looking back on ...] Januar 2014

Na, wie war euer Start ins Jahr 2014? Januar war mal wieder blitzschnell vorbei (irgendwie wiederhole ich mich bei der Einleitung immer ...) - der Arbeitsalltag hat mich wieder voll im Griff, und auch privat war einiges los. Neben ein paar schönen Treffen mit Freunden (endlich wieder Rollenspiel, yay!) durfte unter anderem eine neue Nähmaschine bei mir einziehen. Sorry, falls es gerade den Anschein hat, ich rede von nichts anderem, aber ich freue mich so über sie :)!

Irgendwie war ich diesen Monat allerdings sehr fotofaul. Wahrscheinlich hatte ich noch genug von den vielen Fotos, die ich im Dezember gemacht habe ;). Deswegen ist der Rückblick diesmal eher klein ausgefallen.

So, how did you get started into 2014? January was over in a flash again (somehow I keep repeating myself in the introduction ...) - work is back to business as usual, and there were some nice things in my private life, too. Apart from a few nice evenings with friends (finally we're roleplaying again, yay!), a new sewing machine got to move in with me. Sorry if it seems as if I keep talking about little else but I'm so happy about this :)!

But somehow I was very lazy about taking pictures this month. Maybe I was still hungover from the many pictures I took in December ;). So the look back is rather short this time.

Während ich keine (funktionierende) Nähmaschine hatte, habe ich viel vorbereitet und zugeschnitten, damit es danach richtig losgehen kann. / Endlich ist es wieder hell, wenn ich joggen gehe, ohne dass ich mich sofort nach der Arbeit in die Joggingklamotten schmeißen muss! / Ich bin furchtbar schlecht darin, einen Kalender zu führen, versuche es aber jedes Jahr wieder. Dafür, dass ich ihn nur im Supermarkt gekauft habe, ist dieser doch ganz hübsch, oder?

While I didn't have a (functioning) sewing machine, I prepared and cut a lot so that I could start again right away. / Finally it's light outside when I go running, without me having to throw on my running clothes immediately after finishing work. / I'm terribly bad at keeping my calendar up to date but I still try every year. This one is quite pretty considering I found it at the grocery store, isn't it?

Ich koche nicht mehr viel mit Fertiggerichten, aber die Nisshin-Yakisoba sind eine der Ausnahmen. Es kommt auch immer noch viel frisches Gemüse rein! / Fertig. Yum! / Mein neues Schätzchen :).

I'm no longer using convenience products when I cook but Nisshin yakisoba are an exception. I still add a ton of fresh vegetables, though! / Ready to eat. Yum! / My new baby :).

Experimentelle Chocolate Cookies mit Himbeeren. Rezept kommt bald! / Die Bäckersfrau hat mir ein zweites Schokocroissant geschenkt, weil das "so klein" war. Ich glaube ja, sie wollte mir etwas Gutes tun, weil sie gesehen hat, dass es mir an dem Tag nicht gut ging. Das war so lieb! / Neue Zeitschriften mit viel Inspiration. Ich freue mich schon darauf, darin zu stöbern und viel nachzumachen!

Rather experimental chocolate cookies with raspberries. Recipe to follow soon! / The baker gave me a second chocolate croissant for free because it was "so small". I believe that she actually wanted to do something nice for me since she had seen that I was having a bad day. That was so sweet! / New magazines with a lot of inspiration. I'm looking forward to read them and try out a lot!

RTH Tarot: Knight of Cups

Weiter geht es mit meiner River Twine-Tarotserie. Dieses Bild war mein Wichtelgeschenk für die Spielerin von Pathmark - zufällig (oder nicht so zufällig) eine Freundin von mir aus dem deutschen EQ-Fandom.

Pathmark ist ein sehr lieber Charakter, ein junger Kundschafter und Jäger - ganz am Anfang habe ich auch mal mit dem Gedanken gespielt, ihn zu adoptieren (aber inzwischen würde ich meine Snowfall garantiert nicht wieder hergeben und bin froh, dass er mit A. eine liebe und engagierte Spielerin gefunden hat).

Der Ritter der Kelche steht für einen offenen, das Leben liebenden Charakter, oft einen Boten, was gut zu Pathmarks Aufgabe als Kundschafter passt. Ich habe mich hier ein wenig vom Motiv der Tarotkarte weg bewegt, zumindest, dass Pathmark nicht reitet. Sein Wolf Bonetrail ist aber natürlich trotzdem dabei. Er macht wohl gerade eher eine Pause auf einem seiner Erkundungstripps ... Ich gebe ja zu, Wölfe zeichnen fällt mir alles andere als leicht, also ist das mit Bonetrail vielleicht ein wenig geschummelt - andererseits finde ich es jetzt so sehr stimmig.

Das nächste Tarotmotiv ist auch schon in Planung. Ich hoffe, ihr freut euch darauf, mehr davon zu sehen zu bekommen :).

Let's continue my River Twine tarot series! This picture was my Secret Senta present for Pathmark's player - coincidentally (or not so coincidentally) a friend of mine from the German EQ fandom.

Pathmark is a very cute and nice character, a young scout and hunter - at the beginning I even played with the idea of adopting him (but in the mean time, I would never give up my Snowfall and I'm happy he has found a lovely and committed player in A.).

The Knight of Cups is a very open character who loves life, and frequently he's a messenger which fits with Pathmark's role as a scout. I deviated a bit from the motif of the original tarot card, at least in the fact that Pathmark isn't riding. But of course his wolf Bonetrail is at his side nevertheless. I guess he's having a break on one of his scouting trips ... I admit that I often struggle to draw wolves, so I cheated a bit with Bonetrail here - on the other hand, I think it's quite coherent that way.

I'm already planning the next tarot card - I hope you'll enjoy seeing more of them :).

[Looking back on ...] Dezember 2013

Bevor das Jahr 2013 endgültig rum ist, möchte ich noch einen letzten Instagram-Rückblick für den Dezember machen - und da ich das im Oktober und November aus verschiedenen Gründen versäumt habe, habe ich aus diesen Monaten auch noch ein paar Bilder dabei.

2013 war kein schlechtes Jahr für mich, es hatte viele schöne Momente, aber es war insgesamt sehr anstrengend, und jetzt am Ende des Jahres bin ich einfach nur müde. Ich habe aber noch etwas Urlaub vor mir, ehe die Arbeit im Januar wieder los geht, also werde ich meine freie Zeit genießen und mich gründlich erholen. Und dann hoffe ich auf ein schönes und vor allem entspanntes Jahr 2014!

Before 2013 is over for good, I want to take a last Instagram look back on December - and since I couldn't do one for October and November for various reasons, I have a few pictures from those months mixed in, too.

2013 wasn't a bad year personally, there were many lovely moments, but overall, it was a very exhausting year, and now that we're at its end, I'm just tired. But I still have some holidays before work starts again in January, so I will enjoy my free time and relax as much as possible. And then I'm looking forward to a great and most of all easy 2014!

Im Oktober hatte ich Geburtstag und traf mich mit meinem Bruder und meiner Schwägerin in der Wilhelma, um einen schönen Tag miteinander zu verbringen. / Frosch in Schlangenschaukel. / Geschenke, Geschenke, Geschenke: Bücher, Bücher, Bücher.

It was my birthday in October, and I met my brother and sister-in-law in the Wilhelma to spend a great day together. / A frog in a snake swing. / Lots of presents: Books, books, books.

Shopping: Schuhe - und noch mal Schuhe - und dann zur Abwechslung mal wieder Stoffe.

Endlich wieder Zitrusfrüchte-Zeit - ich habe erst mal wieder säckeweise Mandarinen und Clementinen verdrückt. / Der erste selbstgenähte Topfhandschuh, der mehr oder weniger gelungen ist. (Ich habe seither noch ein paar genäht, die ich euch bei Gelegenheit gesondert zeigen werde.) / Ich liebe das morgendliche Licht hinter dem Gewächshaus in unserem Garten.

Finally it's time for citrus fruit again - I ate whole bags of tangerines in the first days. / The first self-made pot holder which turned out more or less okay. (I have made another few since then which I'll show you another time.) / I love the morning light behind the greenhouse in our garden.

Es war mal wieder PAMK-Zeit. / Ich bekam Weihnachtskaffee und Kokos-Cookies. / Das war in meinem Paket - wie ich euch hier schon gezeigt habe.

Dieses Jahr bekam ich einen Adventskalender von meiner Firma, wie schön! / Ich verbrachte ein schönes Wochenende bei Freunden in Bayern, mit Kaminfeuer und Weihnachtsmarktsbesuch.

This year I got an Advent calender from my company, isn't that nice? / I spent a lovely weekend with friends in Bavaria, with a fireplace and a visit to the Christmas market.

Da hat wohl jemand nicht mitgekriegt, dass eigentlich Zeit für Winterschlaf ist. / Schon der vierte Advent?! / Kurz vor Weihnachten lief bei mir die Geschenkeproduktion noch mal auf Hochtouren.

Someone didn't notice that it's time for hibernation, it seems. / It's the fourth Advent already?! / Shortly before Christmas, I was working on finishing my Christmas presents like crazy.

[Artsy Me] RTH portraits: Snowfall and Spark

Heute zeige ich euch mal wieder ein paar Bilder - Portraits von Elfen aus dem River Twine Holt.

Das erste Bild zeigt meinen eigenen Charakter, Snowfall. Wisst ihr was? Ich bin seit vier Jahren Mitglied in diesem Club, und das ist in dieser ganzen Zeit erst das dritte Mal, dass ich Snowfall zeichne. Das ist schon fast ein Grund zum Schämen - ich sollte sie wirklich nicht so vernachlässigen!

Today I have some art for you again - portraits of elves from River Twine Holt.

The first is my own character, Snowfall. You know what? I've been a member of the club for four years now, and in all that time it's only the third time that I've drawn Snowfall. I really should be ashamed that I'm neglecting her like that!

Anlass dafür, sie diesmal zu zeichnen, war, dass sie seit einiger Zeit eine neue Frisur hat, aber das Portraitbild auf der Website noch ihre alte zeigt. Daher ist es auch nur ein ganz einfaches Portrait geworden. Ich mag recht gern, wie die Haare rausgekommen sind - weiße Haare sind gar nicht so einfach! Ich bin wirklich froh, dass ich sie endlich mal wieder gezeichnet habe. Wenn man dieses Bild mit dem ersten Portrait vergleicht, dass ich von ihr gezeichnet habe, ist es fast schon gruselig - schön zu sehen, dass ich mich in den letzten Jahren tatsächlich weiterentwickelt habe!

The reason to finally draw her again was that for some time, she has had a new hairdo but the portrait on the website still shows her old one. Therefore it's just a simple portrait. I rather like how the hair turned out - white hair is not so easy! I'm really happy that I've finally drawn her again. If you compare this picture with the first portrait I've ever drawn of her, it's almost scary - good to know that I actually made some progress as an artist in the last few years!

Das zweite Portrait zeigt auch jemanden ganz Besonderen - dies ist Spark:

Spark ist Snowfalls Sohn - und er ist in diesem Jahr, am 6. Dezember, zur Welt gekommen. Dies ist das allererste Bild von ihm! In den letzten zwei Jahren haben die Spieler von Snowfalls Gefährten und ich zusammen nämlich eine Storyline geschrieben, in der Snowfall und ihre Geliebte Kestrel beide schwanger wurden. Das war ein sehr langer und schwieriger Weg für sie - sie brauchten dafür nämlich magische Hilfe, und die Heilerin des Stammes ist noch sehr jung und unerfahren und wusste noch nicht genau, wie das alles funktionieren sollte. Es erforderte sehr viele vergebliche Versuche und einen besonders schmerzlichen Rückschlag, als Snowfall ein Baby verlor ... Aber letzten Endes hat es sich gelohnt, denn jetzt haben sie mit Spark und Flicker, seinem Halbbruder, zwei wunderbare kleine Schätze bekommen :).

Das Design für Spark haben wir gemeinsam entwickelt - auf Wunsch des Spielers von Snowfalls Gefährten True Edge hat er lockig-wellige Haare bekommen, und ich wollte ihm gern schwarze Haare geben, in Andenken an Snowfalls Vater und ihre Schwester, die beide vor nicht allzu langer Zeit gestorben sind. Zuerst wollte ich ihm gern grüne Augen geben, wie Snowfalls Mutter sie hatte, aber ganz ehrlich, in diesem Hain wimmelt es nur so von grünen Augen! Und so wurden sie am Ende braun, was dort ironischerweise eine richtig seltene Augenfarbe ist. Ich finde die Kombination von schwarzen Haaren und braunen Augen jetzt echt schön und bin froh, dass wir uns so entschieden haben.

Das Portrait war dabei mein erster Versuch, ein Baby zu zeichnen - Ziel war, dass er nicht älter als ein Jahr aussehen sollte. Ich bin mir noch nicht sicher, ob das gelungen ist ... Im Nachhinein muss ich sagen, dass mir vor allem der Mund etwas breit geraten ist. Trotzdem liebe ich das Bild sehr, als das erste Bild von unserem kleinen Schatz :).

Spark is Snowfall's son - and he was born this year, on 6 December. This is the very first picture of him! In the last two years, the players of Snowfall's mates and I have been working on a storyline together in which Snowfall and her lovemate Kestrel both got pregnant. That was a long and difficult path for them - they needed magical help for it, and the healer of the tribe is very young and inexperienced and didn't quite know how to do it. It took many unsuccessful tries and a particular painful setback when Snowfall lost a baby ... But in the end it was worth it, because now they have Spark and Flicker, his half-brother :)!

We developed the design for Spark together - at the request of the player of Snowfall's lifemate True Edge, he got wavy-curly hair, and I wanted him to have black hair, in remembrance of Snowfall's father and sister who both died not too long ago. Initially I wanted to give him green eyes like Snowfall's mother had but, quite frankly, this tribe is bursting at the seams with green eyes! And so they ended up being brown which ironically is a really rare eye colour there. I now find the combination of black hair and brown eyes really nice and I'm happy we decided to go for it.

The portrait was my first try at drawing a baby. He should not look older than one year at most. I'm not quite sure I succeeded with that ... In hindsight, I have to say that in particular the mouth turned out a bit too wide ... Nevertheless, I really love the picture as it's the first picture of our little darling son :)!

[Artsy Me] RTH tarot: The Devil

Heute zeige ich euch mal wieder etwas Gemaltes - der nächste Teil in meiner River Twine-Tarotserie. (Die bisherigen könnt ihr hier sehen.)

Die Idee und das Layout für dieses Bild haben mich ziemlich viel Kopfzerbrechen und Arbeit gekostet. Wer die traditionelle Rider-Whaite-Darstellung kennt, der kann sich vermutlich vorstellen, dass das zu Elfen und Wölfen in einer Fantasy-Welt nicht so gut passt. Daher bin ich komplett davon abgewichen und habe die Karte sehr frei interpretiert.

Genau wie der Tod ist der Teufel eine der am meisten missverstandenen Karten - es geht dabei nämlich nicht um eine böse Person, sondern darum, sich von inneren Kräften fesseln und irreführen zu lassen, während man die Verantwortung dafür äußeren Umständen gibt. Damit passt sie perfekt zu Honey, der Elfe im Vordergrund. Eigentlich ist Honey eine recht tragische Figur - sie hat von der großen Liebe und der perfekten Familie geträumt, aber ihr Gefährte liebte einen anderen und ist letztendlich zu ihm zurückgegangen. Es hat natürlich nicht geholfen, dass Honey zu Kleinlichkeit, einer gewissen Grausamkeit und dazu, die Schuld bei anderen zu suchen, neigt ...

Die umgekehrte Bedeutung der Karte passt auch gut zu ihr - nachdem sie sich nämlich von einer schweren Krankheit erholt hat und über das Ende ihrer Beziehung hinweg gekommen ist, versucht sie sich einen neuen Platz im Stamm zu schaffen. Und die umgekehrte Bedeutung ist "sich befreien, seine eigene Kraft wiederentdecken". Passt doch, oder?

Die Elfen im Hintergrund sind alles wichtige Personen aus Honeys Leben, die für die verschiedenen Wünsche, Ereignisse und Kräfte stehen, die Honey in ihrem Bann hatten und haben.

Ich glaube, eigentlich ist immer die neueste Karte die, die mir am besten gefällt, aber auf diese bin ich wirklich besonders stolz! Wie findet ihr sie :)?

Today I'm showing you another painting - the next part in my River Twine tarot series. (You can see the previous parts here.)

The idea and layout for this picture really had me racking my brain. If you know the traditional Rider-Whaite image, you can perhaps imagine that it doesn't fit elves and wolves in a fantasy world too well. So I deviated from it completely and interpreted the card very freely.

Like Death, the Devil is one of the most misunderstood cards - it is not about an evil person but about letting yourself be blinded and led astray by inner forces while looking for reasons in outer circumstances. So it was a perfect fit for Honey, the elf in the foreground. In a sense, Honey is a rather tragic character - she dreamed of the one true love and the perfect family but her lifemate loved another and in the end, he returned to him. Naturally, it didn't help that Honey has a tendency to be petty, a certain cruel streak and always looks for blame in others ...

The upside-down meaning of the card also fits her well - after recovering from a severe illness and having gotten over the end of her relationship to her lifemate, she is trying to find a new place for herself in the tribe. And the upside-down meaning is "to break free, power reclaimed". Fitting, isn't it?

The elves in the background are all important persons in Honey's life symbolising the various wishes, events and powers having a hold on Honey in the past and to this day.

I think that I actually always like the newest card best but I'm really particularly proud of this one. How do you like it :)?

[Artsy Me] The RTH Treasure Hunt

Heute gibt es zur Abwechslung mal wieder ein paar nicht fotografierte, sondern gezeichnete Bilder zu sehen! Das wird auch Zeit - gab es lange nicht mehr.

Im Juli fand im River Twine Holt eine Treasure Hunt (=Schatzsuche) statt - dabei erhielten wir zehn Hinweise, zu denen wir die Antwort in den Bildern, Geschichten oder anderswo auf der Website finden mussten. Zu dieser Antwort produzierte dann das Team bzw. der Spieler wiederum ein Bild oder eine Geschichte, die man einschickte und dafür den nächsten Hinweis erhielt. Das Ganze dauerte einen Monat, aber wer fleißig war, konnte nach zehn Tagen fertig sein - und das waren wir, die Hinweise zu bekommen  und zu rätseln war nämlich der größte Spaß! Danach nahmen wir uns noch etwas Zeit, die Sachen etwas weiter auszuarbeiten, und freuten uns am Ende sehr über die vielen neuen Bilder und Geschichten - so spannend, wie die verschiedenen Teams und Spieler die Antworten umgesetzt hatten!

Today I'll show you some drawn pictures instead of photographs again for a change! It's high time - that didn't happen for a long time.

In July, there was a treasure hunt at River Twine Holt - we received ten clues for which we needed to find the answer in pictures, stories and in other places on the web site. For this answer, the team or the player again drew a picture or wrote a story that was sent in in exchange for the next clue. The whole thing took one month but if you worked hard, you could be finished after ten days - and we were, because getting the clues and finding the answers was the most fun! Afterwards we still had some time to work a bit on our submission, and in the end we were happy about the many new pictures and stories - it was so exciting to see how the different teams and players had interpreted the answers!

These were the pieces I produced for it:

Mein Lieblingsbild zeige ich euch zuerst. Die Antwort dazu war "Moorhuhn". Das sind Chicory und Glow, sie sind Mutter und Tochter - die Idee dahinter war, dass Chicory ihre Haare gern mit allerlei "Fundstücken" schmückt, und offenbar will Glow es ihr nachmachen :). Leider waren meine Moorhühner zuerst etwas klein, aber eine Mitspielerin war so lieb, das mit Photoshop für mich zu richten.

The first one is my favourite - the answer for it was "grouse". These two are Chicory and Glow, mother and daughter - my idea behind it was that Chicory likes to decorate her hair with odds and ends, and it seems Glow wants to imitate that :). Unfortunately my grouses were a bit small at first but another player was so nice to fix that for me with Photoshop.

Hierzu lautete die Antwort "Poke-Hoop" - ein Spiel der Elfen, bei dem es darum geht, mit Pfeil und Bogen oder einem Speer durch einen Ring zu schießen. Hier üben das die Kinder des Stammes, Copper, Glow, Cinder und Rill. Auf dieses Bild bin ich auch sehr stolz, "Action" fällt mir nämlich bei Bildern noch sehr schwer.

The answer for this was "poke-hoop" - a game the elves play involving a ring as a target and bow and arrow or a spear. The children of the tribe, Copper, Glow, Cinder and Rill are training for the next game. I'm quite proud of this picture, too, "action" is still very hard to do for me in pictures.

Die Antwort hierzu lautete "Peeper" - das sind die kleinen braunen Frösche links im Vordergrund. Sie sind bekannt dafür, sehr laut zu sein, daher habe ich mit der Idee gespielt, dass sie Evervale und Longshot, ein Liebespaar, bei etwas *hust* Wichtigem gestört haben. Die Coloration ist mir leider da nicht ganz so gelungen, finde ich, aber ich mag das Bild trotzdem.

The answer for this was "peeper" - that are the small brown frogs on the left. They are known for being incredibly loud, so I played with the idea that they were interrupting Evervale and Longshot who are lovers during something ... *cough* ... important. I think the colouring did not turn out too well in this one but I still like it.

Zuletzt noch etwas ohne Elfen: Da haben wir einmal Flutterby, einen Bewahrer, der bekannt dafür ist, ständig wechselnde Kopfbedeckungen aus Stoffresten zu tragen. Die muss man natürlich vorher anprobieren!
Und rechts ist Quickturn, ein Troll - er gehört zum "House of Tinkers", was die Antwort für den Hinweis war. Das Zahnrad ist das Symbol des Hauses. Eine sehr schöne Colorierung hat mein Teammitglied Megan gemacht, die könnt ihr hier sehen.

And finally, have some pictures without elves. First we have Flutterby, a Preserver known for its constantly changing headdresses made from fabric scraps. Of course you need to try them all on first!
And on the right is Quickturn, a troll - he is a member of the "House of Tinkers" which was the answer to that clue. The gear is the symbol of the house. My team mate Megan did great colours for this sketch that you can see here.
